World Population


World population is at the root of almost all other environmental issues. Twenty first century, human population growth is expected to continue. The largest increase (92%) is the least developed countries, where a total of 6.1 billion and 5 billion people now live outside. Since a high proportion of the population of childbearing age, growth rates will be increased twenty first century. It is estimated that world population will reach 10.4 billion by the year 2100. As human population increases, the gap between rich and poor countries is likely to increase.
